Indaba

On 12th December 2008 the Namibia Sports Commission took a resolution that a Sports Indaba be organized from 16th – 17th April 2009.  The rationale for having hosted the Sports Indaba at Heja lodge on 16 - 17 April 2009 was to discuss the way forward in order to shape a New Era for Sports in Namibia. A moment of silence was observed in honour of the late commissioner Mr B Greeves who untimely passed away on 30th March 2009. The NSC deputy chairperson, Ms A Tjongarero officially opened the Sports Indaba convention at 9h: 00 with a very vibrant message reflecting on the reasons for hosting the Sports Indaba, whereas on the other hand, the Honourable Minister of Youth, National Service, Sports and Culture, Honourable Reverend Willem Konjore delivered a keynote address to the participants by assuring them of government’s continued commitment to developing sports and recreational activities within Namibia.
